Flood, a river overflows after abundant rain

How to help: Texas floods

Updated July 8, 2025

Throughout the weekend of July 4, 2025, historic amounts of rain fell in record time across central Texas, triggering flash floods in the region. The Guadalupe River rose more than 20 feet in less than two hours, resulting in significant loss of life and damage in Kerr County, the hardest hit area. Many are still missing. Search and rescue efforts are complicated by debris and continued threat of flooding across the Texas Hill Country.

Fidelity Charitable collaborates with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy to identify organizations that are responding in times of crisis. We’ve prioritized funds and responding organizations operating in the impacted areas. Currently, the primary focus of response efforts is on search and rescue. Once more information is received about recovery efforts, this list will be updated.
