A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck central Mexico on September 19, as the area still recovered from an 8.1 magnitude earthquake two weeks earlier. This most recent earthquake toppled buildings in Mexico City and areas southward, killing several hundred people and causing widespread damage to homes, schools, businesses, and infrastructure.
While Mexico has extensive emergency response capacity, international assistance will be necessary to support a full recovery for all affected communities. Fidelity Charitable is highlighting the following list of organizations providing relief services for the earthquake. These organizations have existing operations in the region, the ability to incorporate a large influx of donations, and a strong, established record of excellence in disaster relief services.
